At 1,164 m, the Hornisgrinde is the highest mountain in the northern Black Forest, right above the Mummelsee on the Black Forest High Road. A boardwalk leads through the ancient high moor, and lookout towers offer sweeping views over the Black Forest and the Rhine plain.
